Thanks are owed to our amazing cast and crew who poured their hearts into The Park, to our creative powerhouse of a design and directing team, to Studio 58 for letting lightning strike twice, and most of all to our audience – thanks for the love and support.

We’d like to thank our immensely talented and hardworking directors, designers, cast and crew.  This has truly been a team effort.  

We’d also like to congratulate the other amazing shows in STEW: Disappearing Acts by Hannah Johnson, Milmish by Rachel Aberle and Three Seats in a Row by Katherine Swinwood.

And finally–we’d like to extend our utmost gratitude to all those who came and saw the show, and told their friends to see the show.  We are still taken aback by the enormous positive response.  

It is unfortunate how limited our run was, and with five out of six shows completely sold out, we apologize to all those who weren’t able to attend, or were regrettably turned away.

However – this is not the end of THE PARK.  This is just the beginning for us: THE PARK will return to Vancouver.  At this time we cannot be sure of when or where — but we know the want is there and we will meet it.  

So with promise of a return, and studio recordings on the way, we invite one and all to join our FACEBOOK group.  It’s really easy to do and it is the best way to keep updated on the future of THE PARK.

Last night our show had a “preview”; a run in front of an audience before opening night.  

The theatre was packed.  It was so full, there must have been 15 people turned away.  I was so nervous.  It’s one thing to get over 100 people in a room and it’s another to impress them.

The first part of the show the audience was quiet and wide-eyed.  When the show got going, the audience got going.  Jokes that we yawn at, because we’ve seen them over and over in rehearsal, were getting an uproarious reception of laughter.  Spontaneous applause broke out after dance numbers.  The show unfolded so tightly and the audience ate it up – I was so proud of everyone.

And in the end, a standing ovation – pretty good for a preview night.

Tomorrow is our opening night, which we have oversold.  And after that –  I personally beseech you to not miss this show.  I’m serious.  This show is special.  It’s all fresh, all new material, about where we live.  And the response has been unreal.  One audience member told me she thought this was “the future of theatre in Vancouver.”

We do four more performances.  There’s a matinee this Sunday, shows on Wednesday and Friday nights of next week and a final matinee next Saturday.  I wish there were more .  And maybe there will be one day.  But there will never be the very first run of this show again.   We would be honored for you to come share it with us.
